THE ASIAN AMERICAN COMIC BOOK

Four stories based on real-life experiences, with black and white illustrations. "The Internee's Story" deals with loss and conflict within a Japanese American family in a World War II internment camp. "The Student's Story" looks at cultural dilemmas faced by an immigrant Indian college student. "The Refugee's Story" follows the experiences of a Cambodian refugee from Thailand to the United States where he confronts racism and cultural adjustments. "The Garment Worker's Story" focuses on a seemingly docile Chinese woman who discovers her strength and her community's support when the factory where she works closes.
