IRISH IMMIGRANTS' LETTERS 1906-1912

Tells the story of my grandfather, Marriott Gaston Todd, a young man of 21, who left Ballymena, Ireland on October 25, 1906 for the United States and Chicago. From 1906 until 1912 he corresponded with his friend, and future wife, Jean Wallace Fisher. Jean kept all of Marriott's letters, beginning with Marriott's journey from Derry, Ireland and ending when he met her ship from Ireland in New York on August 10, 1912. The letters number more than 200 and appear chronologically just as they were written to Jean not long after the turn of the 20th century.
